Berry French Toast
A sticky sweet treat for Valentine's Day—or any day! The whole family is sure to fall for this berry delicious breakfast idea from @eatprettydarling. It's so easy for kids to lend a hand, too! But before things get too syrupy, be sure to keep the Wet Ones within reach.
This is no ordinary French Toast, it's a berry special way to say, "I love you." And the "berry" part is up to you! Here's what you'll need:
- 2–3 slices of sandwich bread
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 tbsp. milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 4 oz. cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup frozen berries of choice, thawed (we used half raspberries, half strawberries)
- Maple syrup to top
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
Grease the bottom of a loaf pan. Place a single layer of sandwich bread snug in the bottom of the pan.
Mix together eggs, milk, vanilla, and cinnamon. You might need to wipe your hands after this step!
Pour mixture on top of bread.
Add dollops of cream cheese on top of bread and egg mixture.
Place thawed berries around the cream cheese.
Wipe those messy fingers clean with wet ones.
Bake for 25 minutes or until set. Let cool for 5 minutes.
Drizzle with maple syrup and slice into strips.
