Diy Canister Planter
Just because your Wet Ones canister is empty doesn’t mean the fun is done. We turned to photographer, crafter and Instagram mom @themamicam to show us how to turn your empty canister into the perfect planter. So, roll up your sleeves, pop open a fresh canister of Wet Ones, and let’s get crafting!
Here’s everything you need to get started!
- 1 Wet Ones canister
- Small paintbrush
- Acrylic paint (6 rainbow colors)
- Twisted rope
- A bag of potting soil mix
- A small outdoor plant (with roots narrow enough to fit in your canister)
- Drill or nail & hammer
Remove the Wet Ones label and carefully use a drill (or nail & hammer) to make three drainage holes at the bottom of the canister. Then make 2 holes at the top to weave a string long enough to hang the planter.
Using acrylic paint, start painting your design on the canister.
Wait until the paint dries completely before proceeding.
Grab your nearest pack of Wet Ones and wipe any excess paint from hands.
Once your paint has dried, add some potting soil to your planter. Then carefully plant your greenery.
Weave the rope through the holes you created up top, leaving enough slack (about 12 inches) to hang your planter.
Hang it up and enjoy!
