Glitter Snowflakes

Create your own winter wonderland with sparkly clothespin snowflakes! Using just a few easy-to-find items, this family-friendly project from @creativeramblings brings the magic of the season indoors. And with Wet Ones on hand, cleanup is "snow" problem!

All snowflakes are unique. And part of the messy fun is adding your own sparkling touch to each one! To kick off this festive family project, here's what you'll need:

  1. 8 clothespins
  2. Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  3. Acrylic paint and paint brush
  4. Découpage glue
  5. Glitter
  6. Twine

STEP ONE
Remove the spring from each clothespin and set it aside, keeping the wood pieces.

STEP TWO
Parents, this step is all yours! Use a hot glue gun to attach the flat sides of the wood pieces together. Repeat this step with 8 clothespins.

STEP THREE
Hot glue the points of 4 clothespins together to create a star. Repeat this step so you have 2 stars.

STEP FOUR
Glue 1 star on top of the other to create a snowflake.

STEP FIVE
Now it’s time for kids to lend a creative hand! Paint the clothespin snowflake in the color or your choice.

STEP SIX
Wait for paint to dry completely (usually 20–30 minutes but check the label to be sure). Then, apply a thin coat of découpage glue on all sides of the snowflake.

STEP SEVEN
Make it uniquely yours! Sprinkle glitter all over the snowflake and set aside to dry.

We recommend placing a piece of paper under the snowflake for this step. This allows you to pour any unused glitter back in the bottle.

STEP EIGHT
Wipe hands and fingers clean with Wet Ones.

STEP NINE
When the découpage glue has dried completely, attach a loop of twine (or string) to the back of the snowflake. Now go showcase your art!
